Section 1.9: Today, check-in and your time card
On a phone, Today answers "where am I meant to be next". It is also where you check in on set and log your hours, so the hours your producer approves come from the day you worked.
Open ABRAM in your phone's browser and choose Today from the menu.
1. What Today shows
From the top:
- The week strip: tap a day to see it. Today is ringed.
- Next up: the next thing on your day. Tap it to open it.
- Check-in cards: one for each shoot day or work order you are on today (see below).
- Project invite: any invitation waiting for your answer. Tap to accept or decline.
- The day's agenda: bookings, shoot days, work orders and due dates. The item running right now is marked. Tap any row to open it.
- My work: what is due this week and what is already late.
- This week: your hours so far, with Open time card.
Use Calendar at the top for the whole month, and Refresh or pull down to reload.
2. Checking in and wrapping
A check-in card appears for a shoot day or work order today when you are on the call. It shows the title, the time and the project.
- When you arrive, tap Check in. The card shows a running clock.
- When you finish, tap Wrap. The button changes to Confirm wrap.
- Tap Confirm wrap. The clock stops and the card reads Wrapped with the time.
Wrapping takes two taps on purpose, so a stray tap never stops your clock. If you have to go back on, tap Check in again.
Checking in starts your hours for the day, and wrapping writes them. You never type the hours in yourself.
If you tap Check in on a call you are not on, ABRAM tells you You are not on this call.
3. Hours for the day
Under the check-in card, a line shows your hours for that day, or No hours yet. Tap Log hours or Submit hours to add them:
- Start and End times
- Break: unpaid break, in hours
- Note
The sheet tells you where the hours go. If you are still checked in, submitting also wraps your check-in.
What happens depends on the plan of the organization running the project:
| Project's plan | What happens to your hours |
|---|---|
| Pro | Save hours: saved to the project. Nobody has to approve them. |
| Studio and above | Submit hours: sent to whoever runs the project for approval. |
On Free, the row does not appear. Once a day is submitted or approved, it shows what was sent and can no longer be changed.
4. Your time card
Tap Open time card under This week. The Time card shows one week:
- Tap a day on the strip. The rows below are that day's tasks.
- Use the minus and plus buttons on a row to set the hours.
- Tap Add hours to log time against another task. Pick a task, or use general project work if nothing fits.
- Week total shows what you have logged, by project.
- Tap Submit week.
If the week cannot be submitted, the card says why before you tap, for example Submitting a week for approval needs the Studio plan or Nothing to submit yet. After you submit, the card shows Submitted with the date and time.
