Section 1.1: Signing in and onboarding
Tell ABRAM what you make and whether it's just you or a team, and you start inside a project laid out for that work. Your workspace opens the moment you answer, with phases, deliverables and a first shoot day already in place.
1. Signing in
Every Get started button on abram.network opens sign-up. ABRAM signs you in on a secure hosted page, with your email and either a password or a one-time code.
- On a computer, ABRAM shows a short loading screen and then opens the sign-in page.
- On a phone, ABRAM shows its own screen first. Tap Sign in, or Create an account if you are new.
If your company runs single sign-on, sign in with your work email and you are routed to your company's sign-in. An owner or admin sets that up in Settings > Workspace > Sign-in and SSO (see Section 1.4).
Invitation links
If you opened ABRAM from an invitation, ABRAM keeps the invitation through sign-in:
- A project invitation asks one question, Just you, or a team?, and then opens the project you were invited to.
- A workspace invitation skips the setup questions and asks you to join that workspace (see section 6).
A returning user lands on the dashboard after signing in. A new user goes to onboarding.
2. What do you make?
The first question asks about the work you do. Tick every kind of work you make, then click Continue. The first one you tick becomes the starter project you land in, and the rest shape your workspace. If none fits, tick Something else for a general production.
3. Just you, or a team?
The second question decides what kind of workspace you get and what it starts with. There is no separate plan step.
| Answer | What it starts with |
|---|---|
| Just me | Free, with AI usage to start |
| A team | Studio free for 30 days, no card |
Select Just me or A team, and your workspace opens straight away. If ABRAM still needs your name, it asks first (see section 4).
The Studio trial comes with AI included and shared across the workspace, and you need no card to start it. See Section 5.3 for AI usage and plans.
A team workspace is named for you from your work email's domain. If you signed up with a personal address, it is named after you, such as Sam's Studio. Rename it any time in Settings > Workspace.
Two lines sit under the answers:
- By continuing you agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy. Selecting an answer is your agreement.
- ABRAM builds a work profile from your projects: roles, hours, delivery, collaborators and style. You can change this in Settings. The switch is in Settings > Security > Privacy.
ABRAM does not ask about AI training during sign-up. That setting is off by default and lives in Settings > Security > Privacy.
[!NOTE] If you came from a project invitation, the answers carry no plan description and you start on Free. A line underneath names the project you are joining. Click Not you? Decline if the invitation was not meant for you.
4. What should we call you?
If sign-in did not give ABRAM your name, one more screen asks What should we call you?
- Type your full name.
- Click Launch workspace.
The terms line on this screen reads By selecting Launch workspace you agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy.
ABRAM takes your time zone from your device, so you are not asked for it. You can change it later on your profile.
5. Your starter project
On the web, ABRAM opens your workspace inside a starter project for the work you make. It comes with phases, deliverables, milestones and a shoot day in the first week or two.
The ABRAM team writes every starter by hand, so opening one uses none of your AI usage. It is your own project to work in: rename it, change anything in it, or delete it to start fresh. On Free, the starter is your one production, and deleting it frees the slot for a new one.
If you came from a project invitation, ABRAM opens that project and makes no starter.
6. Joining an existing workspace
If a teammate invited you to their workspace, onboarding is one screen titled Join followed by the workspace name.
- Enter your name if ABRAM does not already have it.
- Click Join workspace.
The terms line on this screen reads By selecting Join workspace you agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy. Your role comes from the invitation and your plan comes from the workspace, so there is nothing else to choose.
7. After you launch
The Get started checklist in the bottom-right corner lists three first moves, made in your starter project. See Section 1.10.
