Section 3.12: Shoot Days and the Production Tab
Production is where a project's shoot lives. It opens on Shoot days: every day of the shoot, each with its own call sheet, and a short Next up list of what needs doing before the next one.
1. The Production section
Open a project and go to Production. It has five tabs:
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Shoot days | Your days and their call sheets. |
| Stripboard | Put scenes in shooting order across days. See Section 3.6. |
| Breakdown | Scenes and elements from your script, in Scenes and Elements views. See Section 2.4. |
| Day out of days | Which cast and elements work on which days. See Section 3.6. |
| Run of show | A timed rundown for live days. See Section 4.7. |
Which tabs you see depends on the project's industry. Broadcast and event projects show Run of show and hide Stripboard, Breakdown and Day out of days.
2. Shoot days
Shoot days lists every day in a table: Day, Date, Call, Scenes, Location and Status. The next day coming up carries a Next tag.
Each row has:
- Status: Draft or Published. Change it from the row.
- PDF: download that day's call sheet.
- Send: send the call sheet to the crew.
- A delete button.
Click a day to open its call sheet. See Section 3.7: Call Sheets.
Add a shoot day
Click Add shoot day. Each day gets its own call sheet. You can also add days on the Stripboard with Add day.
With no days yet, the tab shows No shoot days yet and the same button.
3. Next up
People who manage the project see a Next up list above the days. It names the few things to do next, each with its button:
- A day whose call sheet is a draft: click Publish.
- The next shoot day: click Send to crew to send its call sheet.
- Scenes not on a day yet, with the first one named: click Open stripboard to place them.
4. Sending and plans
Sending a call sheet to crew and downloading a clean PDF need the Pro plan or above. On Free, the PDF is watermarked and Send is locked. See Section 3.7.
5. On your phone
Crew can open the shoot day and its scenes from their phone, alongside their work orders and Today. See Section 1.7: Using ABRAM on Your Phone.
