Section 6.6: Client Portal Branding and Video Review
Your client portal can carry your company's look, and your clients can review video cuts in it with comments pinned to the exact moment they mean.
1. Branding your portal
What carries your brand
- Logo: your organization's logo shows in the portal on every plan.
- Accent colour: used for buttons and accents in the portal, and for headings in quote and invoice PDFs.
- Footer text: shown in the portal and on quote and invoice PDFs.
The accent colour and footer text are Custom branding, on Pro and above.
Setting it up
- Click Company profile in the sidebar.
- Find the Branding card. Owners and admins can edit it.
- Enter an Accent Color as a 6-digit hex code, such as #1a1a1a.
- Enter your Footer text, up to 120 characters. For example, "Thank you for your business. Payable within 30 days".
- Click Save branding.
Your changes apply to the portal and to new quote and invoice PDFs.
Checking how it looks
There is no live preview on the card. To see the result, open a client in Clients and click Preview portal.
2. Video review in the portal
Video is not uploaded to ABRAM. You share a cut as a Vimeo link, and your client watches and comments on it inside the portal.
Sharing a cut for review
- Open the deliverable and go to Versions.
- Click New version, then Submit link, and paste the Vimeo link.
- Click Submit v[number].
- Make sure the deliverable's Client portal switch is on.
For the video to play in the portal, allow app.abram.network in the video's Vimeo embed settings. ABRAM reminds you of this when you submit a Vimeo link.
Only versions submitted as Vimeo links play in the portal.
What your client does
On the deliverable in their portal, the client:
- Opens the Review card and clicks Load video from Vimeo.
- Switches between versions if there is more than one.
- Pauses where they have a note and clicks Comment at current time. The comment is pinned to that moment.
- Can also Post without a timecode for a general note.
Markers under the player show where comments were left, and clicking a timecode jumps the video to that moment.
When they are done, the client can Request changes or Approve & sign off.
What your team sees
Client comments land in the deliverable's Discussion, marked Client. Timecoded comments carry a timecode chip, so you know exactly which frame the note is about.
Troubleshooting
The video will not play in the portal. Check that the version was submitted as a Vimeo link and that app.abram.network is allowed in the video's Vimeo embed settings.
My accent colour is not showing. Custom branding is on Pro and above. Check the colour is a full 6-digit hex code, then click Save branding again.
I want to review a video file I have on my computer. Upload it to Vimeo first, then submit the link as a new version. For post-production review with your team, see Section 6.2: Frame.io.
