Section 3.13: Deliverable and Work Order Pages

Deliverables and work orders each have a full page of their own. The two pages share one layout: the work itself in a wide main column, and the facts about it in a rail on the right. On a narrow screen, the rail folds under the main column.

1. Getting to the page

Click a deliverable or a work order in a project, for example on Tasks. It opens in a panel beside what you were looking at, so you can check it without leaving your place.

Click Open full details in the panel to open its page. Creating a new work order goes straight to its page.

The back link at the top of either page returns you to the project.

2. The deliverable page

Every field on the deliverable page saves as you type. You see Saving… and then Saved by the title.

Main column

  • Title: edit it at the top.
  • Description: what the deliverable is, with Notes for context and references.
  • Versions: each round of work, submitted with New version as a PDF or Word file or a link. See Section 3.8.
  • Discussion: the thread on the deliverable. Type @ to mention someone. Comments from your client carry a Client tag.
  • Activity: everything that has happened to it.

Rail

  • Details: Status, Priority, Start, Due, Work package (with a link to it) and Milestone. The dates it was Submitted, Reviewed, Approved and Completed appear as they happen. When the project has a portal client, the Client portal switch shows or hides the deliverable in their portal.
  • People: the Estimate and each person's hours, with how much of the estimate is Allocated. Use Add person to add someone. The menu holds Split evenly, Fill remaining, Manage assignments and Notify, which shows how many people have not been told yet.
  • Checklist: smaller items that make up the deliverable.
  • Files: the attached file and any reference links.

3. The work order page

The work order page saves when you click Save changes in the header. The header also shows the status, Google and Outlook buttons to put the dates in your calendar, and a delete button.

Main column

  • Edit details: Title, Description, Work package, Status, Location, Start and End.
  • Crew & resources: three tabs.
    • Crew: the people booked, with Add project crew and Send invites.
    • Resources: the gear booked.
    • Schedule: who is free across the work order's dates.

Rail

  • Call sheets: link an existing call sheet or create a New one.
  • External invites: invite a guest by email.
  • Documents: files for the job.

See Section 3.3: Work Orders for booking crew and gear.
