Section 1.2: Setting Up Your Profile
Your profile is your digital identity on the ABRAM Network. Whether you are managing productions as a Producer or delivering creative work as a Freelancer, your profile serves as the center of truth for your experience, contact details, and availability.
1. Producer Profiles
If your primary role is a Producer, your profile focuses on showcasing your production company, active projects, and network statistics.
Key Sections & Metrics
- Profile Header: Includes a customizable background banner and avatar. Upload your profile photo and company banner using the camera icons on each image.
- Basic Details: Displays your full name, location, headline (tagline), and company role (e.g., Executive Producer).
- Metrics Row: Displays automated stats to build trust:
- Active Projects: Current projects you are leading.
- Completion Rate: Percentage of milestones completed.
- Avg Health Score: Overall health check of active productions.
- Member Since: Registration date.
- Organization Details: Links you directly to your company page (e.g., "Company: Vesper Studios") and displays your unique Company ID or Account ID.
- Preferred Project Types: Badges indicating the style of production you coordinate (e.g., "Social Media Content", "Commercial").
- Typical Budget Range: Helps freelancers align their rates with your projects.
- Contact Information: Shows your email, phone, business address, and external web links.
2. Freelancer Profiles
If your primary role is Freelancer / Crew, your profile is tailored to highlight your specific skills, gear, certifications, and active availability.
Key Sections & Metrics
- Notable Clients: Highlight brands, directors, or agencies you have worked with in the past. This list appears in the sidebar of your profile.
- Metrics Row:
- Starting Rate: Your starting hourly rate (optional; can be hidden).
- Experience: Years of professional experience in your field.
- Projects: Total number of projects completed on ABRAM.
- Storefront: Showcase specific creative services you provide, each with a Name, Description, Rate Type, and Amount (e.g., "Steadicam Operation" billed as a Day Rate), making it easy for producers to see your rates and package deliverables.
- Work Mode & Preferences: Specify whether you work remote, hybrid, or on-site, travel radius in miles, and weekly hour capacity (e.g., "40 hrs/week").
Your Followers count is not shown on profiles right now. It's reserved for a future update to the ABRAM Network.
3. Contact & Social Visibility Controls
To maintain privacy while allowing producers or team members to reach you, ABRAM provides granular visibility controls for each of your contact fields.
When editing your profile settings (accessible via the Profile Settings button on your profile page), you can configure the visibility tier for your Email, Phone Number, Portfolio URL, and Social Links:
- Public: Visible to everyone, including on your external, shareable profile page.
- Followers & Connections: Visible to anyone who follows you or is connected with you on the platform.
- Connections Only: Only visible to users you are directly connected with.
- Hidden: Not shown to anyone else on the platform.
Connections and followers are part of a future ABRAM Marketplace update. Today, most producers and freelancers should think of this in simpler terms: choose Public to let others see a field, or Hidden to keep it private.
4. Editing Your Profile
You can modify your profile details at any time:
- Click Profile in the main sidebar.
- Click Profile Settings in the top right.
- Update your basic details:
- Full Name, Headline, and Bio: A progress indicator tracks your bio length. A minimum of 50 characters is required for your profile to be marked as complete.
- Location and Address: Set your general location and business address.
- Contact Fields: Update your Email, Phone Number, Portfolio URL, and Social Links, each with its own visibility setting (see Section 3 above).
- Configure Profile Visibility Toggles: Use these switches to choose whether to display your Public Profile, your Budget Range, and your Preferred Project Types on your public card.
- Add your Certifications: For each certification, enter the Name, Issuer, Location, Issue Date, Expiration Date, and a Credential Link if you have one.
- Save changes to instantly update your public view.
Rates & Experience (starting rate, minimum project rate, years of experience, weekly capacity) and Workspace Locations (office, studio, or gear storage addresses) are not set on this screen. Manage them under Settings → Account.
5. Building Your Portfolio
Your Portfolio is a visual grid that showcases your best work directly on your profile. For each portfolio piece, you can add:
- Title and Description of the project or piece.
- Date the work was completed.
- Link to the live project, reel, or external page.
- Cover Image: An image file up to 5 MB.
6. Skills Dashboard & Credentials
For freelancers, the Skills Dashboard (found under Skills in the freelancer sidebar) is the management center for your professional capabilities.
The dashboard is divided into three tabs:
1. Skills
- Managing Skills: Click Add Skill to add new creative or technical capabilities.
- Proficiency Levels: Rate your proficiency for each skill: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or Expert.
- Categorization: Skills are organized under categories (e.g., Camera, Post-Production, Lighting, Sound).
2. Specializations
- Declare high-level areas of focus (e.g., "Steadicam Operation", "Documentary Sound Mixing") that display prominently on your card and match you to niche project briefs.
- This tab is hidden if you belong to an organization.
3. Analytics
- View your Profile Completeness Score, breakdown of skill categories, and proficiency distributions.
AI Resume Importer
Instead of manually typing in all your details, you can import your existing credentials:
- On the Skills page, click Import Resume.
- Drag and drop your resume (PDF, Word, or text file, up to 10 MB).
- The AI extractor reads your resume and automatically fills in your skills. Review and click save to apply.
