Section 7.1: FAQs and troubleshooting
Answers to the questions people ask most, with the steps to fix each one.
1. Calendars and availability
Q: Why are my external calendar events not showing up on my ABRAM calendar?
A: Subscribed calendars refresh about every 30 minutes. If events are missing:
- Open Schedule and choose Calendar settings.
- Under Subscribed calendars, check that the calendar is listed and its switch is on, so it shows on your calendar.
- Click the sync button on that calendar's row.
- If it is still empty, copy the secret address from your calendar app again and re-add it with Add calendar. Some apps issue a new address when you reset sharing, which leaves the old one dead.
All-day events from a subscribed calendar show on your calendar but never raise a clash warning.
Q: Does blocking out a day on my other calendar make me unavailable on ABRAM?
A: No. An event on a subscribed calendar raises a clash warning and leaves your availability and capacity untouched. To make a date unavailable, add a Time off event on your ABRAM calendar with Add event. A lead may need to approve it first. See Section 4.5.
2. Payouts and payments
Q: Why does my payout account say "Setup required" or "In review"?
A: Stripe has to verify you before you can be paid.
- Setup required: something is missing. Open Settings > Billing > Payouts and click Continue setup or Complete setup.
- In review: Stripe is checking your details. You are told in ABRAM and by email when it is done.
A client cannot pay your invoices until your account is Active. Payments go straight to your Stripe account, and ABRAM never holds funds. See Section 5.1.
Q: How does a purchase order hold work?
A: The payer clicks Authorize payment, which places a hold on their card through Stripe Checkout. Nothing is captured yet.
- The payee can Accept PO or Reject PO. The payee must be on Pro or above.
- The hold lasts 7 days. The payee gets an in-app notice when less than a day is left. For an organization, that goes to its owners and admins.
- On day 7 Stripe releases the hold and the payer is not charged.
3. AI and AI usage
Q: Why are my AI features turned off?
A: Usually one of three things:
- Your AI usage has run out. Open Settings > Billing to see how much is used and when it resets. On a paid plan, an owner or admin can turn on extra usage or raise its spend limit. See Section 5.3.
- Your plan does not include the feature. Uploading a brief for ABRAM to read and script breakdown need Pro or above.
- Your workspace has limited what the assistant may do. Owners and admins set this in Settings > AI > Assistant.
Q: Why did my free AI usage disappear?
A: The starter amount of ABRAM AI on Free expires 30 days after it is granted. Move up to a paid plan for AI usage every month.
Q: Why is ABRAM asking me for more detail about my brief?
A: ABRAM needs enough to outline a project. If the brief is short or missing scope, dates or roles, add more detail and run it again.
4. Teams and invitations
Q: Can someone belong to more than one organization?
A: Yes. If they already have an account, inviting them adds them right away. Someone in several organizations switches between them in Settings > Account.
Q: Why can't I add more outside crew to a production?
A: Each plan allows a set number of people from outside your organization per production: Free 2, Pro 10, Studio 100, SMB / Enterprise unlimited. The crew tab shows how many you have used, such as 3 of 10 external. The same outside person can be on at most 3 of your active productions at once. See Section 4.3.
Q: I added people to a project. Why has nobody heard from us?
A: Everyone you add lands drafted. Nobody is contacted until you click Send invites.
5. Integrations
Q: Why can't I connect Slack?
A: Slack needs Pro or above. It is connected once for the whole organization by an owner or admin, in Settings > Integrations > Connectors.
Q: How do I report a bug or leave feedback?
A: Open Settings > About and click Send feedback. Pick a category, add a title and a description, then click Submit.
7. Plan limits
Q: Why can't I send a clean call sheet or use certain features?
A: Some features depend on your plan.
| Plan | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Pro | Clean call sheets sent straight to crew, client portals (10), Slack, quotes, time tracking, up to 80 resource items |
| Studio | Client intake forms, capacity planning, crew matchmaking, timecard approval, financial export, advanced logistics, unlimited client portals |
| SMB / Enterprise | Single sign-on, directory sync, audit log, barcode scanning |
See Section 5.3 for the full comparison, and Settings > Billing to change your plan.
